wedding season is nearly upon us. i’m pretty excited to receive my first invite to ashleigh weaver’s wedding. it’s gonna be a great one. the wedding is at st. pat’s historic and the reception at stone oak. that means we can all just stumble back to casa del amato or coveney. how perfect.
let the bidding to be my date commence. bribes of all varieties will be accepted.

osu spring game. some good will com from it someday.

drove down to the osu spring game on saturday. the plan was to hopefully not get raind on and sell some shirts. the plan only worked partially.
most likely due to the weather forecast, the turnout for the tailgate wasn’t as great as expected. there was probably only about a quarter of the turnout outside the game as there is during a regular season game. but at least we had a great support staff. buckeye bill had a table right next to me, drew was there to sit on his throne as jupmode’s #1 salesman, and even kate piv, shannon, and doug stopped by.
friday night was a more exciting time. kate piv played a gig at some place called andyman’s. i started on the road late, so i went straight there. it was an amazing turnout by the cchs class of ‘01. andy mcgurk and gf, colleen, were there, dusty misthal!, drew, and doug logsdon. it was quite a reunion. best of all, kate finally came out with her own cd. it’s call lion songs it’s wonderful. check it out. head room is a hit.

toledo toboggan relocates, increases marketing efforts: high fives all around

i’m a little late on this one, but if figure better late than never. toledo toboggan has freed itself from the .blogspot chains and is out on his own. this is a big step up for the toboggan and well deserved. he has picked up his posting frequency since a quick hiatus and produced high quality content that is earning praise throughout the art, life and toledo scene. upso, toboggan’s most vocal supporter says, ‘if it’s not already the best art related toledocentric blog in america. i just stopped by and read some crazy shit! you should too!’ high praise from a local artist who is putting toledo on the map.
another exciting addition to toboggan is business cards. they’re sweet and simple. elegant, yet capable of making christian bale sweat. i’m excited for the day toboggan finally comes out with t-shirts. i heard he’s a great shirt salesmen.

fedex burned me for the third straight time yesterday. i hate them. too bad i love kinko’s so much. i was supposed to get 680 shirts in yesterday and deliver nearly half of them to stores. cool, fedex. they better come in today. next week i’ll be shipping with someone else.
i had to have a physical this morning. mikey needed to get me some of that life insurance he’s selling. this lady with smoke stained teeth came over to check me out. i had some blood drawn, blood pressure tested, peed in a cup, and was weighed and measured. i pretty impressed to see that i weighed 180. last i checked i was in the 190 range. dr and pat better watch out. pretty soon i might be a ritzenhein like them.
a funny thing happened last night. i met drew and mcgurk at the fire nation open house last night before coming home. we moved our way to the back where some people were hanging out and talking. as i searched for the bathroom some lady with a few drinks in her looked at me and said something. “hey, you’re on tv.” unsure how to respond since i’m not on tv, but did a few news pieces for the shirt, she was slightly tipsy, and i was wearing my mustache and glasses disguise, i said, “uh, yeah.” thinking she would leave it at that and wouldn’t realize that i wasn’t who she thought i was, she continues. “for the tressel shirt.” drew chimed in at that point and egged her on. i’m a little uncomfortable with the attention. it’s good for the business which is the important part.
it was pretty funny though. never did i think that a random person would recognize me from one of those segments. it’s good to be done with tv.

drew over at toledo toboggan posted a few weeks back about making free art a priority. i’m not the authority on art (or life, toledo for that matter) that he is, but i am a big fan of free.
so i headed over to Franck deLas Mercedes’ page and emailed him for some free art. and mine art is kick ass. that’s right, franck sent me free speech. if you see me out anytime in the near future acting like i have tourette’s, just know that it’s because i have been reminded of one of my greatest freedoms.
i dare someone else to ask for free art from franck and see if they get something better than free speech. i’m pretty sure it can’t happen. i win.

quite a few people took photos of us while we were selling shirts. not many people told us where we could view them. luckily, focker found a great photo from the osu vs. msu game. the ladies promoting aceformen.com stopped by while we were working and took a photo with the hottest shirt on campus.

being thursday, i’m a little late on a recap of last weekend. but it was so good i feel obligated to update everyone.

drew the fashionista. doubly cool in a blazer and osu sweater vest t-shirt.drew made the trip once again to return to the wexner shop (he just can’t get enough of the man ass bags). luckily for us focker had the first 80 hour work week of his career and couldn’t force us to go out to gaswerks. we still stayed at his place though since all of the cousins occupied brian’s house.
it was 51 degrees out. when you have calves like this man,the cutoff for shorts is 50.
mikey showed up saturday morning to help us sell. in a mobile blog post from saturday, i took a jab at him for talking to an old friend rather than helping. while i thought it was entertaining, mikey actually helped out quite a bit. he was right in everyone’s grill telling them to buy shirts. in fact, he had several of the best lines of the season. here are the ones i remember:
- help my son move out of the house! buy a shirt
- be a hero.
- anyone can be a player. not everyone can be the coach
sanman was back in action too. hopefully you enjoyed the previously posted video as thoroughly as he enjoyed the no teeth required soup pants made. i can’t wait to see this man again next year.
