i’m convinced this is the best video i’ve ever taken. there are so many good things about this video. you must watch the whole thing. sanford is the man. highlights include:
- don’t make him talk about pool.
- you’ve got a customer.
- he normally doesn’t take his hat off.
- he does body work - on cars and especially on females.
- he’s prone to cramping.
- at jupmode we’ve got real reasonable prices, we got your size, we’ve even got toddlers.
- if nothing else, sanman is a gentleman who helps fallen ladies.
- the woman didn’t pick her feet up high enough.

and, honestly, it was alright. sanford tatum is a really great dude and pool player.

the idea to take sanman out came from focker. sadly, focker ditched us for better things and he missed out on the night that was. when i initially asked sanford to come out with us, i didn’t really expect him to follow up and call. while drew and i were comatose watching the ND game, i received a call from a random columbus number. it was sanman at the pay phone. we got ready and i picked him up and took him out to play some pool.
naturally i wasn’t expecting much out of mr tatum on the pool tables and was slightly anxious about how he’d act in public with a bunch of little white kids. by the end of the night, sanman had beaten me in all but two games and really increased the fun quotient. it was a fascinating night. enjoy..

osu spring game. some good will com from it someday.

drove down to the osu spring game on saturday. the plan was to hopefully not get raind on and sell some shirts. the plan only worked partially.
most likely due to the weather forecast, the turnout for the tailgate wasn’t as great as expected. there was probably only about a quarter of the turnout outside the game as there is during a regular season game. but at least we had a great support staff. buckeye bill had a table right next to me, drew was there to sit on his throne as jupmode’s #1 salesman, and even kate piv, shannon, and doug stopped by.
friday night was a more exciting time. kate piv played a gig at some place called andyman’s. i started on the road late, so i went straight there. it was an amazing turnout by the cchs class of ‘01. andy mcgurk and gf, colleen, were there, dusty misthal!, drew, and doug logsdon. it was quite a reunion. best of all, kate finally came out with her own cd. it’s call lion songs it’s wonderful. check it out. head room is a hit.

we had quite the winter storm in ohio this weekend. you may have even seen or heard of it called the blizzard of ‘08. i love it when they do this. it just makes it so much more intense and exciting. maybe i should start selling ‘i survived the ohio blizzard of 2008′ shirts. they might sell better than my ‘i survived the blackout of 2003′ shirt.
anyway, we were fortunate that pants and dr arrived safely into columbus friday night. in anticipation of the storm, chuck and i picked them up at the airport and we all stayed at cousin brian’s place. the plan was to go to chris dyer’s hockey game saturday. however, the snow kind of ruined that plan. instead we slept in and played some euchre with uncle mark.
we eventually did drive home. the roads were difficult until about marion. the rest of the drive there was at least one decent lane. it was the longest columbus drive of the week, clocking out at about 4.5 hours. i really hope things start to heat up a little bit soon.

drew is our lead model. this is our magazine cover.
had another successful weekend in columbus thanks to drew and focker. drew made the trip on friday with me again. it was another typical night out with focker and his brobots. at least he hasn’t done enough to convince us to stay saturday night too.
lee kissed my neck. he is a great man.
luckily i didn’t snooze my alarm too long on saturday morning since the game began at noon. i struggled over to focker’s in the early a.m. and we made it to 7/11 a little later than predicted but not too late to miss anything of significance.
how can you resist two handsome guys like us.most people can’t so they take our photo.
on the drive home, drew and i had a realization about our selling techniques. we are definitely more than just your typical vendor on lane avenue. we’re pretty young compared to everyone else and look like three enterprising college students. most people generally appreciate this. girls flirt with us to scam free shirts and sometimes try to help us sell. the alumni that pass like to ask us if we had the idea and are surprised to find out that we did.
sanford was back baby!
our best sales strategey, however, is shoving the stick in as many faces as possible and harassing people as they walk by. it’s amazing how well this works. i think it is responsible for over half of our sales, no joke. we are the most proactive sales people on the street and most of our audience is well humored enough to laugh at us rather than get upset. hopefully you caught drew’s witty banter in the videos below. we didn’t get any great video of reactions, but we’ll keep trying next week.
