as a rule, any book recommended by mrs. anning is a must read. she let me borrow both of these books. they’re excellent. the tender bar is my favorite of the two. it’s a memoir by j.r. moehringer. he talks about his life growing up in long island and his connection to the local bar and all of its characters. i love memoirs. the idea that moehringer takes a standard life story and turns it into something entirely fascinating captivates me. i love true stories and stories based on real life experiences. i wish i could write a memoir. someday, perhaps.
the shack is an interesting religious tale by william p young. he’s not the most polished writer, and the story seems redundant at times, but he presents a religious message in a very compelling manner – something very unusual anymore. check it out.
any other book suggestions? send them my way. annie just sent me chuck palahniuk’s latest.

remember that time pants cooked the food you like, hosted the tailgate, let you stay over night, visited you too often at school, learned how to text, took you to practice, made you feel uncomfortable when asking you about a gf or bf, cried when you left home, loved you more than should be possible. you probably do. cause it happens everyday.

I really want to read that book. I’m a fan of memoirs as well. I got chapters mapped out in my head already.
