toledo held it’s first big concert last night at the newly renovated civic center. ohio-proud rock band, the black keys, opened it with style. tickets sales exceeded 1,200 the day of, according to toboggan and it certainly looked packed during the show.
focker told me about the show months ago and kept bugging me in typical focker fashion to join him. i was reluctant to go since i don’t know one song by the black keys. however, ike and toledo.com held a contest for free tickets earlier on in the week. despite the random selection, i still won and asked drew to join me. we convinced andy mcgurk to join.
it was a mighty fine time even though we didn’t fit in with the mostly hipster crowd - which i didn’t know had such a strong contingent in ohio. the black keys rocked, hard and loud. and the opening band, the kills, brought the sex appeal. i really enjoy live music and would definitely recommend seeing the black keys live.

remember that time pants cooked the food you like, hosted the tailgate, let you stay over night, visited you too often at school, learned how to text, took you to practice, made you feel uncomfortable when asking you about a gf or bf, cried when you left home, loved you more than should be possible. you probably do. cause it happens everyday.
