clark kellogg supports team 15
so you may have noticed a few posts referring to this epic race thing. for those confused by all of this busines, epic is a ‘young professional initiative’ in toledo supported by the toledo chamber of commerce. it stands for ‘engaging people, inspiring change’. feel free to form opinions from there.
the epic race is their signature event. ‘the purpose of the race is to showcase what’s great about northwest ohio and dispel the myth that there is nothing to do in toledo’. last year they had over 40 teams and 10 completed it. this year there are just over 20 teams. which, if i do the math correctly, means only 5 should finish. the top four teams receive pretty sweet prizes. flat screen tv, ps3, ipod, mud hens suite. i figure i should win one of those prizes and have some fun in the meantime.
my teammates are jim kirk and danielle briones. you may remember jim from the soccer and softball teams, and for being andy ‘one foot’ kirk’s older brother. danielle formed the soccer team and works for tim alter at rudolph/libbe. both solid, motivated people that are going to take home a tv at the end of the month with me.
i’ll keep you updated as we go along to all 60 places. you can find quite a few or our pictures from the race on my flickr account and hopefully i’ll get around to posting some of the team photos periodically. at the end we should have quite a presentation put together and i’ll, or course, share that as well.
remember that time pants cooked the food you like, hosted the tailgate, let you stay over night, visited you too often at school, learned how to text, took you to practice, made you feel uncomfortable when asking you about a gf or bf, cried when you left home, loved you more than should be possible. you probably do. cause it happens everyday.
