remember that time pants cooked the food you like, hosted the tailgate, let you stay over night, visited you too often at school, learned how to text, took you to practice, made you feel uncomfortable when asking you about a gf or bf, cried when you left home, loved you more than should be possible. you probably do. cause it happens everyday.

when i was in grade school at st. rose, all of the cool kids were on the bowling team. they would pile into the bus once a month, eat jolly ranchers and have a great time bowling at interstate lanes in rossford. i was not on the bowling team. i was on the outside of all of the inside jokes those bowlers had, rode an empty bus home on bowling day, and only experienced the fun of bowling on special events in my youth. incidentally, i’m 25 and i still think about this. i may never get over it.
on tuesday, i picked up dywuan and lauren and we went bowling at interstate lanes. i think the last time i was there was when i still hung out with andy bobak. well, interstate lanes has really done some sweet things since then. they have the computer scoring that allows you to put 5 letters in the name slot. the old ones, which limited you to 3 letters, inevitably ended up with me or some other infinitely clever fellow naming the team members poo, ass, tit, and fag. this time we actually ended up with dee, john, and laure. pretty cool. they also have cartoon graphics on the screen that dywuan was fascinated with, speed gauge, and combined score.
the best feature they have, well second actually, is that they can program the bumpers to come up for specific bowlers. so for us, they only popped up for dywuan and went down for lauren and me. lauren was a little disappointed they didn’t allow adults to use bumpers. the real best feature is that, thanks to shannon, they sell the osu sweater vest tee and i made a second delivery to them tuesday.
needless to say, it was a grand time. dywuan beat lauren the first round, used the ladies bathroom, and threw the ball behind him on the back swing of one roll.
dywuan was as camera shy as lauren on this night, so there aren’t many photos or videos. the two videos are below.
