we finally received the pancreatic cancer bracelets yesterday that we ordered two weeks ago. pants has been eagerly awaiting these. they are slightly larger than the ones she picked up at MD Anderson in houston, but not so big that they’ll drop to your elbow. very fashionable!
they come in a batch of 20. so if you live in toledo and want one let us know. if not, you can order some online from the hirshberg foundation. as they say on the wrist bands, you can hope or you can help. so please help those with pancreatic cancer, a very understudied cancer.
a few facts:
- pancreatic cancer has the number 1 highest fatality rate of all cancers
- pancreatic cancer does not discriminate by age, gender, or race
- the average life expectancy after being diagnosed with metastic deisease is just 3-6 months
- the one-year relative survival rate is 20%, and the five-year rate is 4%
pants has already beat the odds by making it over a year already. with your support she will outlive all the odds.

edit: when i notified the hirshberg foundation that the first shipment wasn’t delivered, they were great in responding to me and making sure they got me the wrist bands quickly. thanks lisa.
remember that time pants cooked the food you like, hosted the tailgate, let you stay over night, visited you too often at school, learned how to text, took you to practice, made you feel uncomfortable when asking you about a gf or bf, cried when you left home, loved you more than should be possible. you probably do. cause it happens everyday.
