here is the shirt i’ve been working on for quite some time now. i’m rather proud of it. for those that need further explaining, jim tressel is the head football coach for OSU and is known for wearing a sweater vest during games. i see this as the tuxedo t-shirt for buckeyes fans. i like the idea so much that i had to find a manufacturer in china to make it for me.
the next OSU licensing meeting is on tuesday. i don’t fit the typical mold of someone who takes an item to the university for licensing so it might take a miracle to get this things through. i think i have several things going for me though. this is a very unique item. from my research, there is not another shirt like this or made as nicely as this. also, jim tressel is an ohio icon. he is a classy coach that wins and will be around for years. right now, fans buy red sweaters to look like him. this shirt will provide a low cost solution.
hopefully they realize that if i’ve done this much work to just get a sample, i’ll be able to handle the other responsibilities that come with a license. i have talked with a bank and private lender about financing, and have discussed the distribution with my contact in china and retail stores.
but i’d like a little more feedback on the shirt. the final product will likely be 100% cotton and with approval from the unversity will have their logo in place of the ‘O’. so let me know what you think. is this a good idea? should i modify it? would you buy it if it was sold by OSU? anything else just leave it in the comments. it will help my case with OSU. thanks.
(the shirts are available for purchase on jupmode.com)
remember that time pants cooked the food you like, hosted the tailgate, let you stay over night, visited you too often at school, learned how to text, took you to practice, made you feel uncomfortable when asking you about a gf or bf, cried when you left home, loved you more than should be possible. you probably do. cause it happens everyday.

i would buy 5 of them. great job john. they should come with an american flag pin too.
awesome! I’ve been waiting for this ever since you brought it up last year…great idea!!! It should look even better with an official OSU logo. Good luck at the meeting!

thanks for the feedback guys. i hope they like it just as much.
the american flag pin is a good idea. might raise some more issues with copyrights or licensing though. i’ll inquire if we get that far.
As I attend The Ohio State University…I would be proud to sport this tshirt on any gameday….nice work john….
