in case you missed out on the email (let me know and i’ll add you to the list), we got great news about nancy pants yesterday. she went to johns hopkins to see if she qualified for their relatively new clinical trial. they scanned her with some 3d scan which she’s never had before. and the scan came back negative!
this means she does qualify for their trial. it’s some sort of vaccine and the results have been fantastic so far. we’re all so excited about this. thanks for all of your prayers and support. don’t stop them.
pat asked a question yesterday that i had as well. if her scan is negative doesn’t that mean she’s cancer free. well, yes she is, but the recurrence rate for pancreatic cancer is so high that you are technically never free of it.
i’ll use the example i was given to explain it a little better. not to downplay any type of cancer, but pancreatic doesn’t go away as breast cancer or others can. chemo, radiation, or another treatment may temporarily remove it from the system, but it is never gone for good.
either way, we’re excited for pants and thankful for the great treatment she’s received so far.
remember that time pants cooked the food you like, hosted the tailgate, let you stay over night, visited you too often at school, learned how to text, took you to practice, made you feel uncomfortable when asking you about a gf or bf, cried when you left home, loved you more than should be possible. you probably do. cause it happens everyday.
