annie! it tolls for annie! luckily it’s not the final call bell, but the closing bell at the nyse.
the press release states that she is part of something called the nyse euronext. not sure what that is. i thought she reported trading violations in the US. anyway, the sweet person that she is, she was a member of a habitat for humanity team and that is the real reason she was part of the closing bell team. must have been pretty cool. (she’s on the left side of the picture in the tan suit. don’t blame the poor picture on me.)
when i visited annie last fall, she took me to the exchange and it was pretty decent. ringing the bell is a pretty big deal, much like annie, so i’m happy they finally bumped her to the top of the list and let her do it. if they want to keep her talent in town they should let her take more pictures next time.
nyse honors its habitat for humanity volunteers [nyse]
remember that time pants cooked the food you like, hosted the tailgate, let you stay over night, visited you too often at school, learned how to text, took you to practice, made you feel uncomfortable when asking you about a gf or bf, cried when you left home, loved you more than should be possible. you probably do. cause it happens everyday.

A history lesson for you, john (and all your other avid readers)!
On April 4, 2007, the NYSE and the Euronext merged to become one company, NYSE Euronext. This makes the exchange international and it has now started trading Bonds. Very exciting. I am going to say that it is the largest exchange int he world, but I may or may not have made that up (at least I’m honest).
