mikey and i went to opening day today. it was a great game. a lot happened. the mud hens played some other team, hit the ball, threw some pitches, scored some runs. good times for all.
there was just one problem. i didn’t watch any of the game.
turns out opening day at fifth third field isn’t about the game. it’s about the event and the people there. mikey, of course, knew this.
using his magical powers, mikey snuck us in to the press box using drifty as our cover. once up there it was time to network. we went from box to box to talk to everyone (since mikey knows virtually everyone). that’s why we didn’t see any of the game. it was insane. i honestly must have met 50 new people.
and the cougars were out in full force. it was beautiful.
since i didn’t actually see any of the game, hardly even saw the field, i didn’t get any pictures or mobile updates. you’ll just have to wait until next time to see hopper rounding the bases.
remember that time pants cooked the food you like, hosted the tailgate, let you stay over night, visited you too often at school, learned how to text, took you to practice, made you feel uncomfortable when asking you about a gf or bf, cried when you left home, loved you more than should be possible. you probably do. cause it happens everyday.
