Went to the Fulton County Fair last night. My fifth time I believe and fourth straight. I’m still striving to catch up to the Edge who has been 15 straight. He’s my fair/festival hero.
We had quite the cast of characters with us. Jack came again for his second consecutive and Bill Schoen and John Jaeger (actually it’s probably not spelled that way but Beesman would prefer it comme ca). John J is the man though. He is returning tonight for his fourth day at the Fair. That makes him Edge’s idol.
Last night they held the Combine Demolition Derby. This is the best event the Fair has to offer. Every year it has improved and this year all of their hard work really paid off. The first couple years the combines barely even made it to the first event. This time they were fast and furious – just like Mr. Pot after Long Island slushies at 23. The Edge made quite an impression on the ladies sitting in front of us and even got some good jokes out of them even if they did regress from his clean long and hard Polish joke.
The food was excellent as well. The prize goes to the pork chop sandwich. With a little horseradish and ketchup it was so delish. Bill was the surprise eater of the night and kept pace with the Edge – although the Edge did remark as we were leaving that he was still hungry.
For those of you who haven’t seen a combine derby before check out the video below or youtube it courtesy of John at toledo.com.
remember that time pants cooked the food you like, hosted the tailgate, let you stay over night, visited you too often at school, learned how to text, took you to practice, made you feel uncomfortable when asking you about a gf or bf, cried when you left home, loved you more than should be possible. you probably do. cause it happens everyday.
