The final leg of the Ohio festival/fair season was Sunday for Dr. Poz and I. We made the hour and a half drive to Minster for Oktoberfest (I’m not really sure where it is either and probably couldn’t find it again – even on a map, so don’t ask). This Oktoberfest was amazing. Way better than that obscure one in Germany. There were so many interesting things at this fair that made it stand out from the others in Ohio. Oddly enough there were many Irish fans to share the experience with and more pro football jerseys than beaters seen on the East Side on an average day. There were rat tails, monster trucks, and jugs and jugs of beer. It was incredible – they let you drink beer out of half gallon milk jugs. What a great idea. Only a chickenhead this cool could have thought of something that brilliant. The food was excellent too. Josh and Lisa Schmidt had their own booth boasting a delicious rib sandwich and a Bahama Mama sausage. Dr. Poz and I had some soup, sauerkraut balls (better than Rocky Mountain Oysters thats for sure), a porkchop sandwich, chicken dinner, cabbage roll…I could go on and on. Of course a jug of beer too. Surprisingly it was more than I could handle…prolly just ate too much – I know this guy did. Well we were very lucky that Lisa and Meg were roommates so we could experience this fine festival. It made this kid really happy too. Or is he smiling cause we really did take his sister?
