I suppose, if DR takes me to in n out burger every time I visit, I can come to terms with life without him.

DR and I finished our trip with one giant stretch. Yesterday we visited the new Mexico capitol in Santa Fe, watched the sun rise at the grand canyon, and visited the original McDonald’s. We did a lot of cool things in a short trip.

DR and I kept moving closer to LA today. We visited OKC, Norman, and Santa Fe. Lots of great places. Oklahoma U has a great campus and Santa Fe has the only round capitol building.

We visited our buddy Hank and his friendly alpaca, jerry, in Oklahoma. He’s stationed in enid with the air force. We toured the base, got to see the different planes, and played with the slight simulator. It was amazing. I want to stay.

St. Louis crushed all hopes of a breakfast of champions with champions. You are not our friend, STL.

While I was napping, DR remembered that Rob courtney goes to school in Indianapolis. We were planning a run in Indy on the drive out west. So we called Rob 15 minutes out to gather his location and warn him of our arrival. He’s an amazing kid letting us stop on such short notice, run around his town, shower, and leave all in an hours time. We need more great friends like Rob.

Here’s the video that Johns Hopkins made about our mother, Nancy Pants, and her fight against Pancreatic Cancer. Pants is out four years after being diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. She is in an experimental vaccine program at Johns Hopkins. They have done an amazing job and we are so blessed she is a part of their program.

I’m back on dogsitting duty with Maggie Dyer. She’s a terror when you visit but a real sweetheart when you spend time with her.

when i saw josh bragg recently, he told me this website wasn’t a must read like it used to be. i’m just not fun enough anymore. well, this past weekend i think i had enough fun for him and you.
thursday night was our prayer party for pants. we had a great showing and it was more party than prayer. and it turned out to be a reason to celebrate since her scan came back clean on monday!
on saturday, our college buddy, pat mcgarry, married toledo gal, liz malone. it was an epic wedding. dr. bonesaw, mr. babylegs, and pat brown all stayed with us. and there were hoards of zahm house legends at the wedding. weddings are the best.
after sleeping for 3 hours saturday night, i had to rage for john earl lindsay’s bachelor party. it was the perfect bachelor event – a nascar race at mis. earl is actually a fan. most of the rest of us were new to the scene. it didn’t matter. a nascar race is the best tailgate i’ve ever been to. there are no rules. cops don’t patrol the lots trying to hand out drinking tickets like at college football games, parking was free, and you can bring food and drinks into the race. for $39 we had decent seats and didn’t have to buy anything there. compare that to a typical ticket to a college football game ($60+) and you not only have a better time, but a much better value. consider me a nascar fan. we even had this pool where for $5 we picked drivers names out of a hat. if your driver placed, you won some cash. when i pulled greg biffle’s name out of the hat, earl’s dad traded me for kevin harvick and a shotgunned beer. for those that didn’t notice, kevin harvick ended up winning.
here’s a video of the cars going around the track and my boy, kevin harvick, pulling off the win.
there are plenty of photos from each event on facebook and flickr, if you’re into that sort of thing.
